WE DELIVER www.AToolShed.com 1-800-A-TOOL-SHED The Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee of the Santa Cruz County Farm Bu- reau hosted the 8th Annual Testicle Festival at Estrada Deer Camp in Watsonville on August 27th. Rocky Mountain Oysters were served as hors d'oeuvres and sauce contestants entered a variety of dips which were enjoyed and judged by the record-crowds. A full chick- en barbeque was served for dinner, with s'mores for dessert. The festival also in- cluded a raffle, live and silent auction. Mara Miller Spahn of Watsonville won the "It's All in the Sauce" contest which invited attendees to prepare their favorite dipping sauces to pair with the Rocky Mountain Oyster ap- petizers. Spahn's sauce was the favorite of all the sauces entered in the competition. Janet Estrada of Watson- ville won the coveted "Best Sauce Name" category with her cleverly named "Sweet Balls of Mine" sauce. The Testicle Festival also hosted a competitive horseshoe contest and the winning team was comprised of Fred Chamberlain and teammate Ricardo Am Rhein. Contest winners were presented with plaques memorializing their triumphant performances. If you haven't tried a rocky mountain oyster, be sure to attend the 2017 event! This year's event is October 13th from 5pm-7pm in the Ex- hibition Mall at the Salinas Sports Complex. Wrangler's Tough Enough to Wear Pink program provides a nationally-recognized campaign and framework for rodeos and western events to promote breast cancer awareness and fundraising to benefit their local com- munities. This successful program has raised more than $20 million for breast cancer charities since it be- gan more than a decade ago. The California Rodeo Salinas began participating in the Wrangler Tough Enough to Wear Pink Campaign in 2005 and has donated more than $45,000 to local breast cancer charities since that time. Cowboys and spectators wear pink shirts to the Tough Enough to Wear Pink performance during the Rodeo each year and breast cancer survivors participate in the grand en- try festivities that evening. One dollar from each ticket sold on TETWP night at this year's Rodeo was donated to Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System's Com- prehensive Cancer Center.
