The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, May 11, 2012 10 A/Otsego Manor 2 x 3 mond. They're crisscrossing the country to find three undis- covered inventors each week who are convinced their one- of-a-kind creation is the next million-dollar kitchen gadget. Of course, it doesn't mean much until you see it in action. The pros are going to have to put those gadgets to the test to see if they really do deliver on the inventor's promises. But as seen on such shows New Food series searches for the next million-dollar idea TV Media M mulated over the years. May- be these were promoted as time-saving tools, some even promising to deliver inspiring results that will surely elevate your reputation as the con- summate gourmet cook. With Mother's Day, a few of you might even have a new addi- tion to that drawer. While truthfully, some gad- gets rarely see the light of day outside that drawer -- those garnishing tools never did help me decorate every plat- ter with the perfect radish rose -- but many inventions really do end up changing the way things are done in the kitchen. Think of what cook- ing would be like for some of you without a garlic press or a ost of us have a drawer full of gad- gets that we've accu- as "Shark Tank," sometimes a good idea or product alone won't bring in a dime. Busi- ness and financial consider- ations aside, there has to be a market for every product or in- vention. That's also something to be considered as Green- berg and Raymond select one invention to be presented to retail manufacturers who will ultimately decide if an inven- tor's dream will come true. The Sunday edition serves as a sol- id sneak peek for viewers, and "Invention Hunters" settles into its regular time-slot the following night. Steve Greenberg and Patrick Raymond test out an invention in "Invention Hunters" kettle, even a microwave or a food processor -- these were all invented in the last century. So what's the next big gad- get that will captivate us or completely revolutionize our lives? That's what "Invention Hunters" is out to find. Premiering Sunday, May 13, the Food Network series fol- lows invention experts Steve Greenberg and Patrick Ray- Both hosts bring a great deal of invention know-how with them. Raymond is a pat- ent-holder himself, so he knows the industry from the inventor's point-of-view. He also founded the non-profit Inventors Association of Man- hattan before becoming ex- ecutive director for the United Inventors Association until 2010. Many may recognize Greenberg as a frequent seg- ment host on many of the network morning shows and "Dr. Oz." The former TV news reporter also made a name for himself for six years on HGTV's "Dream Builders," where he showcased some of the latest innovative designs in home construction.
