Award rec- ognizes high school seniors that have Accepted the Challenge of Excellence by overcoming a per- sonal or physical adversity, stayed in school, and worked hard to suc- ceed. Loggins is a senior at Burns High School. She has dealt with financial hardship and homeless- ness. She described how she has lived in a house without electricity or running water. She also works 20 hours a week as a custodian. Despite these hardships, she has made straight A's, was selected for and attended Girl's State and Governor's School, and plans to attend college. She has been accepted to NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and will interview at Harvard. Exchange Club ACE Award Winner Dawn Loggins The Exchange Club presented Loggins with a certificate of recognition and $200. Club.
