The play exam- ines the circumstances that lead to the belief that Abraham Lincoln could have been born in Bostic, North Carolina. This two-act play revolves around Nancy Hanks, the mother of Abe Lincoln, who was bound out to the Enloe family living in Bostic in the late 1790's. Included in the drama are Nancy's best friends, Nancy Enloe, Nancy Leake, and Polly Price, as well as friends of Abraham and Sarah Enloe. Rutherford Community Theatre will be presenting three performances of "The Ballad of Nancy Hanks" at Concord Baptist Church in Bostic, North Carolina, where Nancy attended Sunday services and sang in the choir. The play opens on Friday, April 27th, at 7:30 p.m., followed by a performance on Saturday, April 28th, at 7:30 p.m., and a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 29th. The Concord Baptist Church is located at 720 Old US 74 Hwy (toward Forest City Fish Camp restaurant) in Bostic, North Carolina. The cross street is East Church Street.
