About 10 minutes later, the group stole items at gunpoint from a 37-year-old Milwaukee man in the 3400 block of North Weil Street, police said. Kimberly Bartz, 26, was charged Sept. 4 with identity theft. A criminal complaint said a couple went to a Brookfield restaurant in November 2013, and gave their waitress a credit card to pay the bill. But the credit card was not returned. Later, the customer learned his credit card was used three more times that day, the complaint said. A surveillance video of a Target transaction showed Bartz making the purchase; the restaurant manager said she was a "relatively new hire," the complaint said. A few days later, her credit card bill showed 15 transac- tions from Aug. 17 to Aug. 19, 2014, totaling $666.96, which she had not authorized. Improvement project approved at General Mitchell International Airport MILWAUKEE — Gov. Scott Walker last week announced a $540,000 project to replace the concrete panels located within the ground run-up enclosure at General Mitchell International Airport. Funds will be used to replace the majority of the 25-foot square and 18-inch thick panels as they are badly deteriorated and showing surface scaling and panel cracking. Wendy Hottenstein, project manager with the state Department of Transportation, said that replacing the panels is a safety issue as badly deteriorated concrete can be ingested into aircraft engines during run ups. The state will provide $432,000 of the funding, with Milwaukee County paying for the remaining $108,000. The project is scheduled to be completed this fall. General Mitchell International Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, making it eligible for state and federal funding.
