August 17, 2015 - December 14, 2015 MACHINIST ACADEMY The Machinist Academy Program introduces machining operations as they relate to the metalworking industry. Students will learn how to safely perform the basic operations of measurement, layout, drilling, sawing, turning and milling. Students should also be able to read simple blueprints, manually write simple CNC programs for the mill and lathe, and solve simple math problems as they relate to machining and CNC programming.
