The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, January 13, 2012 10 And the fourth (and cur- rent) season of "Kitchen Nightmares" has been no dif- ferent. A/ Olsego Manor B/Warm Solutions 2 x 2.5 So far this season, the fa- mously foul-mouthed Scot- tish chef has shared his exper- tise with eateries in New Jer- sey and California, but other stops will include Philadel- phia, Baltimore, Atlanta, Northern California and Aus- tin. In his continuing quest to help struggling restaurant owners turn their businesses around (and indirectly, their lives), Ramsay has had to deal with some pretty unique situ- ations -- which admittedly makes for some good reality TV moments. For example, a two-part episode back in No- vember had people buzzing when the owner of L.A.'s Burger Kitchen blamed his woes on a perceived online conspiracy among food blog- gers (never mind the inconsis- tent food or service). Upcoming episodes will profile one restaurant owner whose trademark of the word "Hon" has upset the commu- nity, and another who spent almost $80,000 on bath- rooms -- but not a single pen- ny on the kitchen, where it re- ally counts. Also, look for a Ramsay-esque moment when the chef tosses out one res- taurant's entire stock of chicken wings. Chef Gordon Ramsay stars in "Kitchen Nightmares" Ramsay reality show resumes with new episodes TV Media E ven Gordon Ramsay has to take a bit of time off now and then. After a brief hiatus over the holidays, Ramsay's ever-popular Fox series "Kitchen Nightmares" has returned to its usual Fri- day time-slot with all new ep- isodes. However, it may be more accurate to state that it is the series that took a break - and not necessarily the man himself. While many spent Christ- mas Day with their loved ones, Ramsay did so too -- he just happened to be working at the same time. With family and friends on-hand, Ramsay hosted a cook-along special for British viewers in which he prepared his Christmas dinner live from his London home. Ramsay's drive, his com- mitment to his reputation and his desire to expand on his success should come as no surprise to Ramsay's Ameri- can fans, who are used to see- ing the high-octane chef in top form on such shows as "Hell's Kitchen." Add all that to the count- less mold-crusted refrigera- tors, the rodent problems, the sub-par food and the human drama that Ramsay has en- countered along the way and you can see why the whole experience is not exactly for the faint-of-heart. Love him or hate him, Ram- say's approach (or antics, to some) keeps pulling in consis- tent ratings for all of his col- laborations with Fox. So there was little surprise last Sep- tember when a fourth series order was announced: the tentatively titled "Hotel Hell." But for viewers who prefer to watch the creative process in- side a kitchen than the busi- ness outside of it, rest as- sured: production on a third season of "Masterchef" is well underway.
