It was held at the Lawndale Community Center on Saturday, April 11th. The Scouts greeted you at the door and were post- ed throughout the dinning areas to assist everyone. The meal included fish, hushpuppies, cole slaw, french fries, drink and homemade dessert. Scoutmaster Paul J. Judge had his boys eager to help and thank everyone who came. It was definitely a gracious and enjoyable event. Scoutmaster Judge has been the leader of Troop 112 for 16 years. During his tenure, Troop 112 has produced 7 Eagle Scouts. Since its' beginning in 1941, they have been honored to produce 79 Eagle Scouts. Quite an impressive record. If you care to join, new members are always welcome. They meet at Lawndale Methodist Church every Monday evening at 7 p.m. Some of the Boy Scouts of Troop 112 in Lawndale gather and give a 'thumbs up" and thanks to the town of Lawndale and all the volunteers who made the recent Boy Scout Fish Fry at the Community Center a big success. Proceeds all went to the Boy Scouts Troop 112 of Lawndale. Crossroads Rescue Mission hosted an Easter Egg hunt for kids in the community on April 4, 2015. Along with Faith Baptist Church they picked children up from all over the community. The chidren had a fun time playing Bible games and then listened to a message from Brother Daniel Douglas about "The First Easter Story". After singing, Crossroads Rescue Mission provided lunch for the kids. Everyone enjoyed a good time together and then went out for the Easter egg hunt. After hiding and finding eggs it was time to go, but not before each one received their Easter basket filled with toys, candy and bubbles. Thanks to all who helped to make this event possible. On Saturday April 11th, the Foothills Farmer's Market opened their 2015 season. One of the biggest crowds ever ushered in the new season. Suffice to say, it was curb to curb people! There was a variety of crowd pleasing pur- veyors. Whether you wanted plants, herbs, flowers, baked goods, handmade soap, coffee, meats, eggs, or arts & crafts, it was all there for you and "100% local guaranteed". The Foothills Farmer's Market operates on Washington Street in Uptown Shelby every Saturday from 8am until 12noon. Coming Soon: The Market will celebrate their relocation & grand opening at the new shade pavilion on May 16th at the corner of Marion & Morgan Streets in Shelby.
