Boy, do we ever love celebrity chefs. They're all over television these days. There's Gordon Ramsay on Fox ("MasterChef Junior," "Hell's Kitchen") and An- thony Bourdain on ABC and Esquire ("The Taste," "The Getaway"), to name just two of them, and that's not even considering how many can be found on the Food Network and the Cooking Channel. Speaking of celebrity chefs on the Cooking Chan- nel, that destination for foodies is presenting an all together different kind of celebrity chef in her own holiday special airing, Sun- day, Dec. 7: rather than be- ing famous for being a chef, this lady is a famous pop star who also happens to be a chef. "Holiday Feast with Kelis" will bring music superstar Kelis Rogers (better known as, simply, Kelis) to the screen as she invites audi- ences to tag along as she and her family prepare a festive holiday dinner for their friends. A pop star in the kitchen? It's not nearly as far-fetched as it might sound. Kelis is a certified chef who graduat- ed from Le Cordon Bleu culi- nary school, wrote a cook- book in 2006 and even has her own line of sauces. In fact, "Holiday Feast with Kelis" isn't even her debut on the Cooking Chan- nel. Her cooking show, "Saucy & Sweet," premiered earlier this year and com- bines her love of cooking us- ing bold flavors with a be- hind-the-scenes look at the daily life of a musical celeb- rity. So clearly Kelis is no light- weight in the kitchen look- ing to cash in: this lady's the real deal. For her holiday feast, she'll be taking audi- ences on a shopping trip to share some of her secrets to picking out only the freshest meats, vegetables and spic- es.
