After "Lizzie Borden Took an Ax" premiered to 4.4 million viewers back in January, the A+E Networks cabler is bringing the ax-swinging Sunday school teacher back to prime time in a six-hour minise- ries set to air in 2015. "Lizzie Borden: The Fall River Chronicles" will see the infamous ax murderer return to the small screen to tell the story after the story, following Lizzie after her extremely controversial acquittal of the murders of her father and stepmother. Though the account Lifetime gives will be fictional, it's still based on fact, much like their original production. Back carrying the ax in the tit- ular role is Christina Ricci ("Pan Am," "Sleepy Hollow," 1999), along with Clea DuVall ("Argo," 2012, "Carnivàle"), who'll reprise her role as Lizzie's sister Emma. It's an exciting time for Lifetime's executive vice-presi- dent and general manager, Rob Sharenow, as he is more than thrilled to have Ricci back. "For more than a century, the world has been captivated by the legend of Lizzie Borden, but no one has captured her enigmatic menace as well as Christina Ricci," he said to "Deadline." There will also be a new cast of characters stepping in to try to figure out the goings- on in Fall River, Mass., when more people around Lizzie mys- teriously meet untimely ends. Cole Hauser ("Good Will Hunting," 1997), Emmy nominee John Heard ("The Sopranos") and Andrew Howard ("Limitless," 2011) have each signed on for the miniseries, and they'll play a detective, a business partner and half-brother, respectively. Now, Lifetime is tak- ing another whack at the noto- rious ax murderer with the six- hour miniseries "Lizzie Borden: The Fall River Chronicles" set to premiere sometime in 2015. Wednesday The Middle (6) (6) 8:00 p.m. In what has become an annual tradition, the Hecks invite viewers into their home in a special Thanksgiving episode. Patricia Heaton leads the cast of this sit- com as a harried mom of three who raises her brood alongside her loyal husband Mike (played by Neil Flynn). Thursday Spartacus: War of the Damned SYFY 7:00 p.m. In the first of back-to-back new episodes, Spartacus (Liam McIn- tyre) tries to gain the upper hand by weakening the forces behind Crassus (Simon Merrells). Howev- er, a betrayal could ruin the plan. Later, Crassus leads a battle against the city. Grey's Anatomy (6) (6) 8:00 p.m. A conflict over a patient's treat- ment leads to an argument be- tween Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) in this fall finale.
