The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, September 9, 2011 10 A/ Olsego Manor B/Warm Solutions 2 x 2.5 vorite, not to mention a Food Network staple. Now, host Guy Fieri and his red 1967 Chevy Camaro are set to re- turn with all-new discoveries in the season premiere on Monday, Sept. 12. The premiere follows Fieri on his search for something grilled or smoked, which brings him to Bun 'n' Barrel. This San Antonio landmark has been serving up smoked favourites since 1950 – along with a side of ranch- style beans and hand-bat- tered onion rings – but it's their take on classic Texas BBQ that's got Fieri in- trigued. Then it's on to Denver, Colo., where the Tocabe American Indian Eatery has got locals hooked on bison ribs topped with blueberry sauce. Fieri's stop in St. Pe- tersburg, Fla., brings him to Munch's Restaurant & Sun- dries, a shop that smokes its chicken before incorporating it into their Texas hash. The food scores highly with both viewers and the lo- cal clientele, but when it comes to credit for Triple D's solid ratings, the host himself also plays a big part in that. The likeable, spiky-haired Fi- eri is easy-going yet has an infectious enthusiasm that causes viewers to want to sample the food themselves – which isn't bad for busi- ness for many of the featured eateries. Before the Season 12 pre- Guy Fieri hosts a new season of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" Triple-D debut Fieri rolls into town with 12th season TV Media places. S Maybe it's the 75-year-old diner that keeps customers coming back for its cheese- burger soup. Or a small Min- ometimes the best food can be found in the most inconspicuous nesota cafe that churns out some "off-the-hook Cuban food." Or it's a Boise, Idaho drive-in that serves up classic prime rib. These roadhouses or greasy spoons are just the kind of hidden gems that have made "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" such a crowd fa- miere, Food builds up the ex- citement with a mini-mara- thon of five episodes and a new episode of "Crave." Loy- al viewers also get rewarded on Saturday, Sept. 17 with four hours of back-to-back episodes. This is all welcome news to those who may have feared for the future of the series back in May when news came of a legal dispute between the series producer and the Food Network. The parties have since worked to resolve most of their issues and although it looks like a new production team may be at the helm, a 13th season appears to be planned for the near future.
