PAWS pet of the week "Silence is golden unless you have a puppy...then, si- lence is suspicious, very, very suspicious." This week PAWS is fea- turing seven little pups with lots of spunk and per- sonality. Their mother was found on a remote road by a jogger who couldn't help but notice that mama was near her due date. A day later, seven little boys were born. Each pup is marked differently in shades of black and tan, brin- dle, yellow and tan. It's believed they may have dachshund, terrier or min pin heritage. Their moth- er is small and it is be- lieved the pups will also remain quite small. These little boys are eight weeks old and can be adopted by calling 812- 354-9894. This week PAWS is featuring seven little pups named Revere, Stretch, Champ, Dodger, Tiger, Eli and Noah, who have a lot of spunk and personality and are ready to be adopted. To adopt these sweet little pups call 812-354-9894. "For thou has possessed my reigns: thou hast cov- ered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonder- fully made: marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well. My sub- stance was not hid from thee when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my sub- stance, yet being unperfect: and in thy book all my mem- bers were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious al- so are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee" (Psalm 13913-18). As a body of be- lievers, we pledge ourselves to allow the Holy Spirit to develop within us maturi- ty of spirit, unity of faith, and knowledge of the Son of God, so that we may be prepared to share His love, mercy and grace through our words and actions, to a needy world. We extend an invitation to the public to come and wor- ship with us. The Good Shepherd takes care of His sheep. Douglas Low, Minister LIVING FAITH CHURCH INTERNATIONAL Petersburg Genesis 2:1-3 "Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day, God ended His work which He had do- ne, and He rested on the sev- enth day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made" (Genesis 2:1-3). The sabbath is something many have passed over in our fast-paced, capitalist so- ciety. But God sanctified the seventh day. He set it apart as a special day. Rest. Some people don't even know how to spell the word. Whether that day is Sunday or another day in the week, a sabbath rest once a week was God's idea. When we take a day to reflect on the week and listen to the voice of God for the week to come, it helps keep us cen- tered and at peace in our lives. As we follow God's princi- ple and set a day aside each week, our lives will be more healthy and our families NEW BEGINNING FELLOWSHIP WESLEYAN CHURCH Petersburg Sunday morning worship 10 :30 a.m. We are committed to the life-giving Christian faith that is guided by God's Word. Last week's trivia ques- tion and answer: What did God instruct Jeremiah to do with the words he was giving him concerning Isra- el and Judah: Answer: Write them down in a book—Jere- miah 30 :2. Next week's trivia ques- tion: What is the name of the brook mentioned in God's promised New Cove- nant with Israel? Hint—Jer- emiah 31. Mini message: Restoration with a new covenant The old covenant which was habitually broken by the people would be replaced by a new one. The foundation of this new covenant is Christ. This covenant offers a personal revaltionship with God himself, with His laws written on our hearts, not on stones. The restoration of a new heart is possible for anyone who accepts this new covenant. Accept Christ today. Until next week—The greatest blessing of all is to be part of the new covenant. Tim Miller, Pastor Martha Breidenbaugh, Reporter VELPEN G.B. CHURCH Last Sunday we explored Revelation 14 and discov- ered that we each have choices to make daily, and if we feel that not making a choice is a good thing, we must think again. God has laid out a path for us to fol- low, and if we do we follow Him and His Son Jesus. You may say I don't choose the devil, but I haven't chosen God's path either. My friend, you are close to choosing the wrong path as you can because you are still follow- ing the wrong path. Why go to church? This is a good question because lots of folks go and get little from going. This is where I can be happy about the folks that I worship with—when they go to church they already have the Lord with them and they are ready to worship, uplift one another and in general be there for one another. It is a fellowship unmatched by any on earth and it has great rewards in the end. So are you worried, lonely and seeking for something to fill the needs of your life? Then give it to God and enjoy be- ing a part of God's kingdom. September 19 is coming together ,and we have ver- bal commitments from Joe and Bert Summers as well as Jim and Lynna Woolsey to sing some songs for us and hopefully, the group that is trying to help the nursing home patients enjoy life a little will be there. God's love did not begin at Calvary: Before the morn- ing stars sang together, be- fore the first blades of grass peeped out God was love.. Turn back the pages of countless eons before God spoke this present earth in- to existence, when the earth was "without form and void" and the deep silent dark- ness of space stood in dark contrast to the brilliance of God's glory and His cheru- bim and seraphim. Even then God was love.
