Cuba Gooding Jr. stars as Ted Brooks, a dentist who inherits a team of sled dogs. But he’s from Miami, and the pooches like it chilly. The good dentist has to learn how to drive the team so he can win an important race; otherwise, he loses his canine colleagues to a rival. James Coburn, Sisqo, Nichelle Nichols and Graham Greene co-star in this 2002 family flick. SUNDAY Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase 10 a.m. on TOON This adventure starring the Mystery, Inc., gang follows Shaggy, Velma, Fred, Daphne and Scoob as they are zapped into a high-tech computer game based on their own adventures. While pursuing the Phantom Computer Virus through the game’s 10 levels, the Scoobies travel from the prehistoric past to the space- age future, meeting their digital doubles along the way. Voices include Scott Innes, Grey DeLisle, Frank Welker and B.J. Ward. Nature 8 p.m. on WSKG WCNY This installment of “Nature” follows the critical moments of different animals’ lives, from birth through those first few days. Newborn marmoset, moose, elephant and gorilla emerge from the safety of the womb to find anxious parents awaiting. Unfortunately, preda- tors are not aways far behind. This film has drama, spectacle and some surprises. TUESDAY Open Season 7 p.m. on TOON Martin Lawrence and Ashton Kutcher provide the voices of Boog and Elliot, a bear and deer stuck in the woods a few days prior to the opening of hunting season. Boog is do- mesticated and is clueless as to how to make it past the hu- mans with rifles and must rely on Elliot to survive. Additional voices include Gary Sinise, Gor- don Tootoosis, Billy Connolly, Debra Messing and voiceover favorite Patrick Warburton. A Man for All Seasons 10 p.m. on TCM Paul Scofield won the best ac- tor Oscar for his portrayal of Sir Thomas More, who paid the ultimate price for defending his integrity and defying the stub- born King Henry VIII. The 1966 drama, which also won the best picture and best director Oscars, also stars Robert Shaw, Nigel Davenport, Leo McKern and Susannah York. THURSDAY Good Burger 8 p.m. on FAM Adapted and expanded from a sketch on stars Kenan Thomp- son and Kel Mitchell’s TV series “All That,” this good-natured 1997 comedy revolves around the colorful staff working at a modest sandwich joint that suddenly faces competition from an upscale hamburger em- porium across the street. Sin- bad, Abe Vigoda, Shar Jackson and Dan Schneider also star. FRIDAY Funny Girl 5:15 p.m. on TCM After making marks on Broadway, on records and in TV specials, Barbra Streisand conquered Hollywood with her screen debut in director William Wyler’s 1968 version of the stage hit about singer and comic Fanny Brice. The vaudeville superstar’s profes- sional successes were offset by her heartache over gambler Nick Arnstein (Omar Sharif). Streisand tied as Oscar’s best actress with Katharine Hepburn (“The Lion in Winter”). SATURDAY Bridge to Terabithia 7:30 a.m. on FAM Despite the cutesy promos for this family film, some very young children should not watch it, since it has a very sur- prising and tragic ending that could be upsetting. Otherwise, it’s an excellent movie based on the novel about outcast children (Josh Hutcherson, An- naSophia Robb) who become best friends and create an imaginary world to escape from their unhappy circumstances. MONDAY Avalon High 8 p.m. on DISNEY Based on a young adult novel by Meg Cabot, this fantasy stars Britt Robert- son (“Life Unexpected”) as the new girl in school, who discovers her class- mates are reincarnations of King Arthur and the members of his court. Things become clearer as she starts work on a term paper about the legendary monarch.
