Christmas cookies are baking in the oven, plans for a succulent goose or ham are taking shape, and colorful rows of twinkling lights are lighting up the streets at night. Of course, it's also the time of year for Christmas specials on TV, and the fun episodes that the Food Network always has in store are some personal Food Network personality Chef Aaron Sanchez Bookhout Funeral Home 2x2 favorites. Pretty much all of the network's shows are getting into the festive spirit with fun new specials, Christmasthemed episodes and some returning favorites, too. Aaron Sanchez, Ted Allen, Cat Cora and others will be popping up in "The Best Thing I Ever Made for the Holidays" on Thursday, Dec. 12. Inviting us into their own homes to show off what they themselves make for the holidays, the chefs will be making some amazing prime rib, crispy pork and delicious butter tarts. "Iron Chef: America" and "Chopped" are filling the month with a blend of Christmas fun, old and new. "Iron Chef's" Kitchen Stadium will bear witness to a battle between the Iron Chefs themselves in an encore of "Winter Ice Battle" (airing Saturday, Dec. 14), in which the culinary giants must serve their creations on dishes carved out of blocks of ice, and another clash between three of the Food Network's biggest names versus three equally skilled Cooking Channel stars (airing Saturday, Dec. 21). If Robert Irvine is more to your taste, then the return of "Holiday: Impossible" will be most pleasing to the palate. This holiday-themed spinoff of "Restaurant: Impossible," airing Wednesday, Dec. 11, will find the buff British chef along the Jersey Shore working to help out two restaurants that were devastated by hurricane Sandy. The energetic Rachael Ray is, of course, also in the spirit of the season. "Rachael Ray's Easy Holiday Feast" airs on Saturday, Dec. 14. She'll show off some easily prepared holiday recipes, and even the most accomplished home cooks may learn a thing or two. And for those of us who will be entertaining this year, chef Anne Burrell will be sharing some tips and tricks on how to pull off meals for a large group in a special Christmas episode of "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef" on Saturday, Dec. 21. There's so much more happening on the Food Network this month that there's bound to be something for everyone.
