The Press-Dispatch Wednesday, December 4, 2013 H1,000th Scoreboard Continued from page B-3 four points each. Padgett dished out two assists while Abbott and freshman Peyton Ruppel added one apiece. Howes also had a game-high five blocked shots. The game marked the return of freshman Jolene Whitehead, who had missed two games after suffering a sprained left ankle in a 5840 loss to Vincennes Lincoln on Nov. 19. "I wouldn't say she's 100 percent yet but I think she's pretty close," said Graham. "We tried to limit her minutes a little bit. Of course, Alyx getting the two fouls within the first minute kind of hurt us there. But she didn't do too bad. I mean, she rushed a few plays, and that's normal when you've missed a couple of games and you're a little jittery and ready to get back into things." "But I thought as the game went on she settled down a little bit," Graham added. "She made some nice plays on defense and got down and moved her feet pretty well. I figure by next game she'll be a lot more comfortable moving on it. It just takes a little time to get your confidence back in yourself." For the game, Pike Central made eight of 44 field goal attempts, an 18.2 percent average, and hit seven of 22 tries from the free throw line while turning the ball over 18 times. "We just weren't very consistent with any of our play today on either end of the floor," Graham said. "We didn't shoot the ball well at all. We've got to stay more in tune with what's going on. When we make a mistake or miss a shot, we can't take three or four plays off and then play again. The other team's not going to quit playing, so we can't take possessions off." Charlton added 12 points in the winning effort for North Knox while Utt and Vieck tossed in nine points each. Gugliotta led the Lady Warriors with 15 rebounds and four steals while dishing out a pair of assists. Senior Shelby Doades added eight rebounds as North Knox out-rebounded Pike Central 43-24. Dec. 9, when the Lady Chargers will host South Spencer. "It's a good break and a bad break," Graham said. "The bad part is we didn't have a very good performance at all today, so we've got to live with it for a whole week. The good part is we've had injuries and we've got time to let those heal a little bit and then we've got time to come in and make some corrections on some things that we see on film and try to improve in some areas to help us offensively. So we'll do that." Graham described the Lady Chargers as "still a work in progress." " The thing is, North Knox is a talented team, but they're not the best team on our schedule, in my opinion," Graham said. "We've got four or five teams that are just really good and we've got them sitting in the middle of our schedule, and North Knox is just one of them. We've got several more we're going to have to see and we're just going to have to be prepared for, so we've got a lot of work to do."
