Jeff Melton photo Poultry Foundation Awards $7,000 to Animal Science Program Cleveland Community College's new Applied Animal Science Technology program received a boost recently. The program was awarded a $7,000 grant from the US Poultry Foundation. This was the maximum award that the College was eligible to receive. The grant will be used to help educate middle and high school students on the Applied Animal Science Technology program, and career opportunities available in the poultry in- dustry. Funds will also be used to support collaborative events such as college career days, animal science days, and poultry science judging contests, and to strengthen connections with local employers and poultry industry affi liates. The US Poultry Foundation provides these grants as part of its Industry Education Recruitment Fund. The fund supports recruitment at colleges that encourage careers in the poultry industry. The grant requests are reviewed by a committee of university professionals. The committee then makes recommendations to the Foundation Board of Directors.
