And having tried everything — from acting to modeling to competitive swimming — before becoming a pro- fessional restaurateur, this Peruvian chef certainly has both to share. All-new ep- isodes of "Hot Dish With Franco" air Saturdays on Food Network. During this series, "Fran- co shares personal heartfelt stories of his Peruvian and Italian roots as he prepares delicious dishes with his signature flare for flavor," Food Network describes. "From quick and easy weeknight meals to brunch and classic Latin dishes with a twist, all of Franco's food is easy, accessible and brings people together." Even before the show's premiere, Noriega's enthu- siasm for the program was evident. "Delicious food has always been central in my life as some of my fa- vorite memories have been in the kitchen eating and cooking with my family and traveling across the world enjoying fantastic meals. Now, I'm thrilled to share my favorite recipes and lifelong passion for cooking with Food Net- work viewers," he recently shared. Throughout the series' six half-hour episodes, Food Network promises that "Franco takes viewers on a culinary journey, sprin- kling in tidbits of his Latin American and Italian back- ground along with cooking tips and tricks," exploring everything from cheese-cov- ered Arepas with Chorizo and Vegetable Ceviche to Crispy Parmesan Lemon Asparagus, Deconstructed Tiramisu and ooey-goo- ey Lava Chocolate Chip Cookies in previously aired episodes. During the season's fifth episode, chef Franco invites viewers to taste a Peruvi- an-inspired feast — what he dubs the perfect comfort food. "Crispy and fluffy Baby Arepas with melted cheese and chorizo are the perfect appetizer," the epi- sode description promises, "and there's nothing more comforting than juicy Pollo a la Brasa with crispy skin, smothered in a spicy green sauce. Papas Huancaina with a Spicy Cheese Sauce makes for the perfect side, especially when paired with a Pisco Sour." Finally, during the series' upcoming Season 1 finale, Franco tackles brunch, sharing his recipe for piled- high Avocado Toast before crafting an elevated take on Tex-Mex Huevos Ran- cheros, complete with fried tortilla strips then covered in homemade salsa, refried beans, crema and fried eggs. Bursting with flavor and Franco's signature flair, the Season 1 finale for "Hot Dish With Franco" airs Saturday, Nov. 4, on Food Network. what'scooking tastytv BY CAROLINE COLLACUTT Taste and talent: Peruvian chef Franco Noriega sizzles in 'Hot Dish' Franco Noriega from "Hot Dish With Franco" making best pasta dish using only up to eight in- gredients. 6 p.m. FOOD Guy's Grocery Games Remaining Flavor- town judges form teams of two to prepare a regional seafood dish on limited funds. 7 p.m. FOOD Guy's Grocery Games Remaining five judg- es prepare their best cheese dish while playing Flavor- town's hardest games. 8 p.m. FOOD Guy's Grocery Games The final four cook a chicken dinner featuring the panelists' least favorite ingredients. 9 p.m. FOOD Guy's Grocery Games 10 p.m. FOOD Guy's Grocery Games A family of chefs make a hot lunch using only five pounds of ingredients.
