NEXT TO SHELBY CAFE www.yippeekiyay224.com COME REGISTER TO WIN 2 FREE VIP TICKETS LAINEY LAINEY WILSON WILSON CONCERT to the GAFFNEY PEACH FESTIVAL Friday, July 14, 2023 DRAWING JULY 1 ST at the Blue Oval Car Club will have vehicles on display for automobile enthusiasts Submitted by Shelby-Cleveland County Regional Airport The City of Shelby and the Shelby-Cleveland County Re- gional Airport will host its an- nual Fly-In and Open House on June 10, 2023, from 10 a.m., until 2 p.m. The FREE event will be at the airport facility, located at 830 College Ave., Shelby, NC, and will give the community a chance to come out to the air- port and tour their facility and see many airplanes and heli- copters operations. BBQ, and hotdogs, along with shaved ice, will be available from vendors such as Beard-O Barbeque, Carolina Gourmet Snowballs, and Marine Corps League NC Foothills Detachment #1164. The Marines will also have ve- hicles on display. The stars of the show are the airplanes and helicopters that fly in for the event for dis- play, viewing or to give rides. JAARS (Jungle Aviation And Radio Service) will be providing airplane and helicopter rides. The airplane rides are $30, and the helicopter rides are $35 and last about 10 minutes. JAARS is a Bible translation and Mis- sions organization based in Waxhaw, NC. Compass Aviation Mainte- nance, an airport Limited Fix Base Operator, will be open to educate and inform the public about their purpose and in- v olvement in Missions Aviation. Pilots will have the opportu- nity to sit in on a presentation by individuals representing the FAA on the topic of Aircraft Owner's Responsibilities. This is a discussion relating to main- tenance, owner maintenance and record keeping.
