Born in Cleveland County, on July 15, 1927, he was a son of the late Clifford Samuel Botts and Florence Ethel Newton Botts. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son; Wesley Botts; two brothers, Buford Botts and Howard Botts; and seven sisters, Johnnie Norman, Mildred Warlick, Betty Jean Botts, Elizabeth Johnson, Mary Lou Ennis, Dorothy Dean Norman, and Willard Bridges. KATHLEEN MARY SHIPLEY Kathleen Mary Shipley, age 74, of Kings Mountain, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023. She was born September 23, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Franklin S. and Mary Lavardera Lusby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul F. Lusby and Rick Lusby; and sister, Jane Lusby Ruish. Survivors include her hus- band, Edward "Bob" Shipley; son, Michael Shipley (Star); daughters, Michelle Shipley Stinnette (Ken) and Kimberly Shipley Mull (Rodney); five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
