She is survived by her son, Nicky Hamrick (Mickie) of Shelby, NC, four grand- children, and four great grandchildren. Born December 13, 1926 in Cleveland County, NC, Daphine was the daughter of the late Wesley and Ida Callahan and was preceded in death by her husband, JM Hamrick, a daughter, Debra McMurry, a brother, Loarn Callahan, and five sisters, Irene Green, Minnie Winn, Beatrice Wheellus, Betty Mauney Gantt, and Barbara Thornburg. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, WILBURN AYERS Wilburn Ayers, age 78, of Caroleen, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Wilburn was born Wednesday, August 16, 1944 in Johnson City, TN, to the late Oscar Vernal Ayers, Sr. and Rosie Marie Rice Ayers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Ayers Cannon; A granddaughter, and three brothers, Harold Gene Ayers, Oscar Vernal Ayers, Jr. and Gary Ayers.
