Conan: Conan O'Brien A Utah senator proposed a bill that would no longer require kids to go to school. But then someone noticed that the senator was just three boys in a trench coat standing on top of each others' shoulders. The Tonight Show: Jay Leno According to a new study, inactivity can kill you. You can die from doing nothing. Believe me. These findings scare the hell out of the Congress. A key prosecution witness in the racketeering and murder trial of Boston crime boss Whitey Bulger was found dead this week. Who could have seen that coming? What, a witness in a mob trial dead? Turned out the guy suffered an allergic reaction to a baseball bat. According to an English newspaper, a mystery fan has been leaking the results of professional wrestling matches before they even begin. He knows who is going to win and he puts it online. That Edward Snowden has gone too far! Is that really a big deal, knowing ahead of time who's going to lose? I mean, Cubs fans have been dealing with that for years. A moment of silence: The cast and crew of "Glee" have been shaken up by the passing of one of the show's stars, but the show must go on. The death of a young star is always a tragedy, and the passing of Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the hit Fox show, has brought an outpouring of grief and support from the show's many fans. Due to the tragedy, the premiere date for the fifth season has been pushed back a week to Sept. 26, and plans are to have a special tribute episode to remember the young star. In another piece of "Glee" news that may have been missed, "American Idol's" Adam Lambert has joined the musical's cast. The singer, who recently parted with his record label, will be joining the cast in an unannounced role for an unspecified time. It's a role that's been a long time coming for the star. The "American Idol" runner-up expressed interest in appearing on the show during an interview with "The Hollywood Reporter" back in 2012. And he won't be the first "idol" to be popping up in this high school musical, either. Last season, another "American Idol" runner-up, Jessica Sanchez, also had a guest starring role on the series, showing up in several episodes as a glee club rival. Every death is a tragedy, but the cast and crew of "Glee" are working hard to move forward respectfully for their fallen friend and coworker. Roasting Franco: Noth- ing says "delicious" like a really well done roast. Slowly cooking Adam Lambert is set to appear in "Glee" es, filling the house with a delectable aroma. At least, that's what most people think when the word "roast" is tossed around. Well, that's not the kind of roasting that Comedy Central is known for. The "Comedy Central Roast" is an annual special that takes stars and puts them under the heat, and audiences certainly get their fill of laughter by the time the evening's through. Next up into the frying pan is the Oscar-nominated James Franco. The young, multi-talented actor and director has certainly become a Hollywood fixture, starring in audience favorites such as "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (2011), "127 Hours" (2010) and "Spider-Man 3" (2007). The roasts have become an annual event on Comedy Central, with many celebrities considering it a point of pride to have been subjected to one. While a live audience watches, these brave stars put themselves at the mercy of their peers, watching as tasteless jokes, insulting skits and biting comments are made at their expense. It's not for the faint of heart — nor for the insecure — but troopers like Bob Saget ("Full House"), Roseanne Barr ("Roseanne"), Donald Trump ("The Apprentice") and William Shatner ("Star Trek") have all subjected themselves to the scrutiny of other celebrities. This year's roast is just one part of a Franco double feature. Following the airing of the roast, the cable network will air "Francophrenia," the bizarre documentary directed by Franco that explores his experiences while he was a cast member in "General Hospital."
