As controversial as that process has become lately, it's long been in effect when it comes to the Screen Actors Guild Awards ... whose voters are, by definition of the organization that sponsors the event, performers. The 29th annual edition of the ceremony will be staged Sunday, Feb. 26, at Los Angeles' Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel – and they can be watched by viewers via a new home for the show: Netflix's YouTube Channel, YouTube.com/Netflix. (Netflix itself will show the awards starting in 2024.) As usual, the SAG Awards will honor single and group performances in the past year's movies and television programs. One special presentation will be the Life Achievement Award to past SAG Award recipient Sally Field, who also owns two Oscars (for "Norma Rae" and "Places in the Heart") and three Primetime Emmys among her accolades. Her career continues to go strong with her current movie role alongside Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Rita Moreno in "80 for Brady."
