Conan: Conan O'Brien Hostess Twinkies are coming back. Hostess has announced that the new Twinkies will have a longer shelf life. The CEO said, "Let me put it this way. Our goal is for Twinkies to outlast people who eat Twinkies." The Tonight Show: Jay Leno Nathan's held its annual Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4. The winner and seven-time champion was a guy named Joey Chestnut. He ate 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes. How is that possible? My garbage disposal doesn't work that fast! Last Thursday we celebrated our 237th year of independence from Great Britain. And our 10th year of dependence on the Chinese! The Late, Late Show: Craig Ferguson The Lone Ranger wears a mask only when he's fighting bad guys, so when he goes off duty no one can tell who he is. Is it really that difficult? I'd just look for the guy riding a white horse with the totally sunburned face with a white half. 'Million Dollar' tech: Mod- ern technology can be a wonderful thing. In our interconnected world, friends and loved ones can be with us no matter where they might happen to be, and whole industries have been impacted by the online revolution. The real estate industry hasn't been one to lag behind the trend. Potential buyers can shop for homes online as prices update in real time, and even take virtual tours of houses without even setting a foot on the property. Now, even the TV shows about the business of buying and selling are going high-tech. The new season of Bravo's "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles," premiering the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 7, will be featuring the cable network's newest innovation: Play Live. By accessing the Play Live website (found at bravotv. com/playlive) while the show is airing, fans of the three California tycoons will be able to interact with the show in innovative ways, with live results shown on-air during the broadcast. It's a neat twist to an already compelling show. The sixth season returns to a rebounding L.A. housing market, and the show's three moguls are starting to step on each other's toes as more potential buyers of the multimillion-dollar homes start to emerge. All three of the young real estate agents are back, and cameras are there to catch every compelling minute of their professional, and personal, lives. Now with an expanded interactive window into the highstakes world of multimillion-dollar real estate, "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" is setting itself up for Stars in costume: We live in a culture of celebrity. The names of some stars are known the world over. Who hasn't heard of Tom Cruise, Whoopie Goldberg or Garth Brooks? Of course, there are even more stars who are only famous within their own circles — each genre of music has its own celebrities, and there are countless authors with small but devoted followings. Well, the world of geekdom is no different. "Heroes of Cosplay," a new show premiering on Syfy Tuesday, Aug. 13, is bringing an often-overlooked group of stars to the screen. "Cosplayers" are simply people who dress up as characters from video games, comic books and more, but to think that it's just adults playing dress-up would be to overlook the huge and vibrant culture that's grown up around this very real art. The series will follow cosplayers from all levels, from neophytes seeking to make their first splash to the legendary Yaya Han. Han is one of the art's masters, always causing a stir at conventions and showing that cosplay really is an art form. Make no mistake — there are no simple Halloween-style costumes. Comic book and scifi conventions feature international showcases for costumes that can often take months of time (and lots of money) to make, and the prestige, renown and money that can be made in the community is nothing to be scoffed at. Whether you're a convention goer yourself, or just have a curiosity for something a little bit outside of the mainstream, check out "Heroes of Cosplay" on Syfy.
