Her character reluctantly embarks on a promotional tour with the model (Channing Tatum) featured on the covers of her books, and he becomes party to a rescue attempt when she is kidnapped by a wealthy villain (Daniel Radcliffe) who believes she knows the location of an actual lost city that holds riches. Brad Pitt also appears as a troubleshooter trying to save her. DVD extras: seven "making-of" documentaries: deleted scenes; outtakes. ››› (PG-13: AS, N, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, Digital and On Demand) "THE GILDED AGE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON" The distinctive architecture of Troy, N.Y., does much to service this HBO drama series from "Downton Abbey" mentor Julian Fellowes. Set in the late 19th century, the saga follows the literal and figurative journeys of a young woman (played by Louisa Jacobson) who moves to New York to live with her aunts (Cynthia Nixon, Christine Baranski), then finds herself forced to choose between conservative values and a more modern (for those times) approach to living. The excellent cast also includes Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Denee Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Simon Jones and Jack Gilpin; a second season of the show is forthcoming. ››› (Not rated: AS) "THE DUKE" The last dramatic feature directed by the late Roger Michell ("Notting Hill," "Morning Glory"), this fact-inspired tale casts Jim Broadbent as a 1960s British cabbie who wants to ensure better government treatment of those in his age group. To get what he wants, he lifts a celebrated painting from the National Gallery – Goya's rendering of the Duke of Wellington – and essentially holds it for ransom. The taxi driver's actions have a big effect on his personal life where his wife (Helen Mirren) and son (Fionn Whitehead) are concerned. Matthew Goode also is featured. DVD extra: "making-of" documentary. ››› (R: AS, P) V) (Also on Blu-ray, Digital and On Demand) "SPECIES: COLLECTOR'S EDITION" Popular enough to have launched a franchise, this 1995 thriller – which benefits greatly from strong casting – gets a home- video relaunch with a new 4K edition in both the Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats. The then-debuting Natasha Henstridge made a big impression as the adult incarnation of Sil, a lethal half-human and half-alien whose desire to mate is driven by her desire to create more of her kind that eventually would erase the world's mortal population. Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Forest Whitaker, Marg Helgenberger and Michael Madsen play the team trying to stop her, with Michelle Williams as the younger Sil. Special features include audio commentaries by Henstridge, Madsen, director Roger Donaldson and visual effects supervisor Richard Edlund, plus an extensive "making- of" documentary. ››› (R: AS, N, P, V) "FIDDLER'S JOURNEY TO THE BIG SCREEN" Jeff Goldblum narrates this documentary that begins by tracing the stage history of one of the most popular musicals ever, "Fiddler on the Roof," en route to its being turned into a celebrated and Oscar-winning 1971 film by director Norman Jewison. Zero Mostel and Herschel Bernardi were among the talents who took the character of milkman Tevye – he of massive social and parental concerns in Imperial Russia – into popular culture, with Topol then bringing the part to the big screen. Of course, portions of such classic "Fiddler" songs as "Sunrise, Sunset," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" and "If I Were a Rich Man" are heard here. ››› (Not rated) (Also on Blu-ray) "DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS" Plenty of familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe turn up in director Sam Raimi's fantasy- adventure, which has a plot built for such appearances. Doctor Strange, again played by Benedict Cumberbatch, finds his way into a multiverse that encompasses alternate-reality versions of the world and its residents ... making things quite complicated as those involved try to restore the universe to its normal, linear state. Rachel McAdams also returns as Strange's former love, with Benedict Wong back as a major ally; Elizabeth Olsen and Chiwetel Ejiofor are in a cast that also sees Patrick Stewart, Hayley Atwell and Anson Mount among those reprising their characters from other Marvel projects. DVD extras: three "making-of" documentaries; audio commentary by Raimi, co-producer Richie Palmer and writer Michael Waldron, deleted scenes; outtakes.››› (PG-13: P, V) (Also on Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, Digital and On Demand) Elizabeth Olsen "I was obviously extremely sad when 'black-ish' ended.
