That is, if they install it correctly . "Stone landscaping can withstand the test of time," said Vickie Lemke, who handles the day-to-day customer service operations at Lemke Stone Inc. in Lannon. "Wisconsin winters and the heat of summer won't hurt it. If it's done right, it should last a lifetime." Lemke said the use of stone, like other variables in home improvement projects, goes in streaks. "Right now, we're on the upswing," she said. "There used to be a big push for interlocking stone pavers, but now people are getting back to the natural look." A lot of the projects done today are for homeowners looking to improve their current lot, not those building from scratch. "A lot of people are using stone more than they used to," said John Fahser of Eden Stone in the Town of Lisbon. "They spend more time at home and are using more quality products in and around their home." Outdoor firepits and outdoor kitchens are becoming very popular, Fahser said. See STONE/Page 3 231981021
