Solution on Page 3 "Kate" (Netflix — movie premiere, Sept. 10) When assassin Kate (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, "Smashed") discovers she's been poisoned after she blows an assignment, she has 24 hours to exact revenge on the perpetrators before the slow-acting substance can kill her in this original thriller movie from director Cedric-Nicolas Troyan ("The Huntsman: Winter's War"). Michiel Huisman and Woody Harrelson also star. Infocus Infocus "Wu Tang: An American Saga: Season 2" (Hulu — season premiere, Sept. 8) The sophomore round of this original drama series finds Bobby (Ashton Sanders) trying to push through challenges and resentments among his group to lead his crew along the road to music stardom. Shameik Moore, Siddiq Saunderson, Julian Elijah Martinez, Marcus Callender and Erika Alexander are also in the cast. As Baba Voss struggles to reunite his family in Season 2 of Apple's post- apocalyptic drama "See," he comes face to face with a formidable adversary with whom he is intimately familiar. Premiering Friday, Aug. 27, the eight- episode season opens with Baba (series star Jason Momoa) in protective mode of his wife and children as the threat of war looms between the Kingdom of Paya and the Trivantian Republic in this future world hundreds of years after humankind has lost the ability to see. When they're pulled to the center of the conflict, they come to the attention of Baba's estranged brother Edo (new cast member Dave Bautista, "Stuber"), a Trivantian general who harbors a simmering hatred for his sibling related to the death of their father. This sets up a long dance between the two characters as old grievances drive Edo to seek revenge. The casting of Bautista as Edo seems inspired, as the behemoth ex-wrestler and the massive Momoa certainly could pass as brothers. According to executive producer and showrunner Jonathan Tropper, the idea to give Baba a brother was actually Momoa's. BY GEORGE DICKIE "See" opens its second season Friday on Apple TV+. "We believe that Indiana's [COVID-19] patient surge will begin soon," said Jennifer Sullivan, secretary of Indiana's Family and Social Services Administration. "Every hospital and hospital system in Indiana has been working on a surge plan… we're helping to streamline those plans and facili- tate communica- tion at unprece- dented levels." Sullivan said the baseline number of beds for the state was 1,432 but increased 35% to 1,940 by expanding into other wings, floors and even operating rooms at specific hospitals. The baseline for ventilators, equipment to help the most critically ill patients breathe, was 1,177 on March 1. "Based on the surge models we have, our goal is to double critical care capacity for the number of ventilators," Sullivan said. Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE, is also desperately needed as health care professional reuse masks and gowns for several patients, risking their effectiveness. a1main O v e r n i g h t b l a z e Downtown Sullivan fire deemed suspicious Students also now have new grading option in most courses By Sue Loughlin Tribune-Star ISU back in session in online format With spring break over, Indiana State University is back in session in an online-only format, and it is offering students the option of taking courses satisfactory/unsatisfactory instead of letter grades. Students can still choose letter grades, and some programs — including nursing and pre-nursing — require a certain letter grade. Program prerequisites that depend on students earning a sufficient letter grade in a course remain in effect. "Like other universities that have moved to satisfactory/ unsatisfactory options, we recognize that students have had a significant disruption in their lives," said Mark Alesia, director of university communication. "We listened to our students and understand that this is an appropriate way to reduce the impact of a difficult situation." Students have until May 1 to apply for the option. It has no impact on grade- point average. Satisfactory means the student receives the credits toward graduation, while unsatisfactory means the student does not receive the credits toward graduation.
