He was born in Cleveland County on June 1, 1961 to the late A.V. Kennedy, Jr. and Ansley Greene. In addition to his par- ents he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hendrick Kennedy; two sis- ters, Jacqueline Kennedy and Tammy Patterson; one brother, Lemuel Terry. Ronald is survived by his children, Tywaina Kennedy, Nicole Shaffer and Ronnie Kennedy; ten grandchil- dren; one sister, Kayron Wiseman; one brother, Arthur Kennedy. Margie was born on June 27, 1926, in Gaston County, NC, daughter of the late G. Arthur and Grace Ward Barrett. She was also preced- ed in death by her husband Clyde J. "Whitey" Bridges; two brothers: Richard "Dick" Barrett and Arthur "Dink" Barrett. Margie is survived by her sons, Clyde J. "Jay" Bridges (Sylvia) of Kings Mountain, NC and David A. Bridges (Wanda) of Gastonia, NC. Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Sisters- in-law, Pat Barrett and Ann Allison of Kings Mountain, NC. Graveside service was held February 21, 2021 at Mountain Rest Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Tim Hendrick officiating. Interment fol- lowed at Mountain Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Patterson Grove Baptist Church at 301 Oak Grove Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086. "Bo" Mason Jr., 72, of Ellenboro, NC passed away on February 12, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 9, 1948 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Walter B. Mason, Sr. and the late Lucy Spikes Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Lee Coleman Mason and a brother, Samuel Mason. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Gregory Stroud of Lawndale, NC and Jerome Coleman (Ashley) of Shelby, NC; three daughters, Bridget Griffin (Darius) and Elisha Ramseur (Bertrand) both of Shelby and Deanna Rutherford of Morganton, NC; one brother, Calvin Mason of Ellenboro, NC; two sisters, Mildred Spikes and Elaine Camp both of Ellenboro; thir- teen grandchildren; and six- teen great-grandchildren. The funeral service for Mr. Mason was private. Burial took place at White Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. HIAWATHA WILSON STRONG Hiawatha Wilson Strong, 67, of Shelby, NC passed away on, February 14, 2021 at Atrium Health- Cleveland. She was born on July 6, 1953 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Eugene Wilson and the late Martha Anderson Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Augusta Douglas and two brothers, Ray Wilson and Vernon Wilson. Left to cherish her memory, her husband, Walter Strong, Jr.; two sons, Parrish Strong (Tamika) of Chesapeake, VA and Chad Strong of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Chasity Roberts (Phillip) of Kings Mountain, NC; three sisters, Maxine Mizell of Peekskill, NY, Janice Hatcher ( Jack) of Edison, NJ and Joyce Wilson of East Orange, NJ; seven grandchildren; two great- grandchildren. The graveside service for Mrs. Strong was private. Burial took place at Sunset Cemetery. BETTY YOUNCE BLACKBURN Betty Younce Blackburn, age 83, of Cherryville, passed away February 17, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1938 in Watauga County to the late Ivan E. and Lillian Thomas Younce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susan Elaine Blackburn; and son-in- law, Gene Page. TERRY ALLEN CRAWFORD February 14, 2021, loving father and grandfather, Terry Allen Crawford, went to be with his Lord, at age 74. He passed at Wendover Hospice House. Born on January 21, 1947 in Andrews, NC, he relocated to Shelby after high school. Terry was preceded in death by his grandmoth- er who raised him, Beulah Derreberry and grandfather, Cross Derreberry, and an infant son, James Crawford. He is survived by a daugh- ter, Jacquelyn Crawford of Shelby, son Stacy Crawford (Bridget) of Gaffney, five grandchildren, and sis- ters, Susanne Simonds, Mona Jones (Bob), Doreen Newman, Peggy Remp, and Sheila Hardy. A memorial service was held at Royster Avenue Church of God, on February 20, 2021 with the Rev. Joe Heffner Officiating. VERNICE ELMORE CANNON Vernice Elmore Cannon, 78, of Shelby, NC passed away on February 10, 2021 at Atrium Health-Main in Charlotte, NC. She was born on May 13, 1942 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Earnest Elmore, Sr. and the late Geneva Morgan Elmore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Cannon Jr., a brother Earnest Elmore Jr., and two sisters Mamie E. Survivors include her hus- band, Ben Blackburn, Sr.; daughter, Gail B. Page of Cherryville; sons, Ben T. Blackburn, Jr. (Robin) of Cherryville, and Ed Blackburn (Sherrod) of Kings Mountain; brothers, Tom Younce of Vilas, NC, Kent Younce of La Follette, TN, and Lowell Younce of Zionville, NC; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. NETTIE PORTER REID Nettie Porter Reid, 75, of Kingstown, NC passed away on February 12, 2021 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. She was born on February 23, 1945 in Spartanburg, SC to the late James "Jim" Porter and the late Venice Allen Porter. She was married to the late Charlie Reid and was the proud mother of one son, the late Darrell J. Reid. Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, her only child and two siblings, Arthur Porter, Sr., and Luvenia Phillips.
