Roger Edward Barrick, Sr., age 95, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Wickshire Senior Living in Charlotte, NC. Born outside Marietta, Ohio on November 14, 1925 he was the son of to the late August Elmer Barrick and Goldie Clarice Rogers Barrick. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn King Barrick, a brother, Clifford Barrick of Lady Lake, Florida, three sisters Constance Allen of Dearborn, Michigan, Dorothy Brown of California, his infant sister Esta Lavone Barrick and one daughter Karol Barrick. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He is survived by one son, Roger of Stanley, NC. and his wife Mitzi and three granddaughters. A Graveside Service was held February 16, 2021 at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, NC with Minister Terry Graves Officiating. Online guest registry is Lawrence was born March 27, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late James Hollis Bradley and Helen Gann Bradley. Lawrence served our country in the US Coast Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Jack and Edwin Bradley; four sisters, Willie Harrill, Virle Sinclair, Nina Fowler, Mildred James and two grandsons. Those left to cherish his memory include six children, Cindy Dobbins of Lancaster, SC, Leroy Dobbins of Forest City, Jimmy Dobbins (Pam) of Lancaster, David Bradley, Jr. (Tammy) of Gaffney, Kandy Crosby (Ron) of Greer, SC and Kristie Bradley (Robbie Bostic) of Forest City. He is also sur- vived by twenty-three grand- children and twenty-one great-grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted February 16, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. He was born on August 2, 1950 to the late Alexander Starr and the late Sadie Roseboro Starr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin Starr. Born in Cleveland County, on January 29, 1974, she was the daughter of Edna Towery Morgan of Shelby and the late William Forrest Morgan, Jr. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her brother Johnny Price. BRENDA DELLINGER BLANTON Brenda Dellinger Blanton, 77, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on February 12, 2021 at her home. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late W.V. "Dub" and Helen McSwain Dellinger and was preceded in death by two brothers, Sgt. Larry Dellinger and Bill (Gene) Dellinger. Survivors include her husband Jimmie Blanton, daughters: Lisa Blanton Whisnant and husband Kevin of Belwood, NC, Amanda Blanton Deaton and husband Monty of Kings Mountain, NC, and four grandchildren and siblings: Wayne Dellinger and Judy Dellinger Scism, both of Kings Mountain, NC Services was held February 16, 2021, at Patterson Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Priscilla Walker and Reverend Dr. Tim Hendrick. A private memorial service is planned. CHERYL COLEMAN HELGESTAD Cherryville - Cheryl Coleman Helgestad, age 63 of Requa Rd. passed away February 13, 2021 at Atrium Health in Charlotte. She was born March 20, 1957 in Burke County to the late Russell Eugene and Zeta Whisnant Coleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred John Helgestad, Jr.; brothers, Leland and Roger Coleman; and sister, Deborah Coleman Curlee. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Sanders and husband, Richard of Cherryville, Stephanie Garrett and husband, Cliff of Garner, and Jade Helgestad of Raleigh; and four grand- children. Born in Cleveland County on April 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Doctor Zemmie Ledford and Ruby Mae Swink Ledford. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Ledford and Donald Ledford.
