Larry was born in Elkton, Maryland on March 16, 1958 a son of the late Sterling Ray Newsome, Sr. and Ellen Woodard McCracken. He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Hostetter and husband, Ben of Conover, NC and Jessica Ward of Lancaster PA; thir- teen grandchildren; and three siblings: Sterling Newsome, Jr. of South Carolina, Sherry McCracken of Maryland and Billy Newsome of Tennessee. Dewey Agustas Turner Jr., age 76, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He is survived by a broth- er, John Turner (Joyce) of Shelby, NC; three sisters, Katherine Ward of Gaffney, SC, Judy Hamby (Jerry) of Thicketty, SC, and Betty Jean Weaver of Gaffney, SC. Born September 13, 1944 in Cherokee County, SC, Dewey was the son of the late Dewey A. Turner Sr. and Margaret Gladden Turner and was preceded in death by a brother, William Turner and three sisters, Elizabeth Lafevers, Lulcille Earney, Annie Robbins, and Nancy Smith. and Mary Olivia Hollifield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her hus- band, Paul F. Meacham Sr.; a daughter, Deitra M. Chapman and son-in-law, John C. Chapman; brothers: Faye Hollifield (Mary Sue), Everette Hollifield (Sarah), Kenneth Hollifield (Elizabeth); sisters, Lillian McDaniel (Mac), Ruth McDaniel (Gail), Ruby Parrish (Glenn) and Elizabeth Dillingham (Hugh); a son, Paul F. Meacham Jr. (Debbie) of Riverview, FL; a daughter, Paulette M. Bradley (Mickey) of Shelby, NC; and eleven grandchil- dren, twenty great grand- children and two great-great grandchildren.
