Geraldine was born October 2, 1938 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Bulo L. Silvers and Vera Henderson Silvers. She worked in textiles most of her life and was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed quilting and playing bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jessie A. Silvers and two sisters, Inez Wall and Betty Hicks. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Kelly and husband, Gary of Greenville, SC and Barbara Byers of Ohio; one brother, Otis Silvers and wife, Margaret of Chesnee, SC; two sisters, Dot Street Tesseneer and husband, Maynard of Forest City and Frieda Gillis of Greenville. She is also survived by one grandson, Chris Kelly of Greenville. Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the family of Mrs. Montgomery. ERNEST WOODROW CASH JR. Ernest Woodrow Cash Jr., age 48, of Forest City, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013. He was a long distance truck driver, and attended Walls Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Angela Leach Cash of the home, three children, eight brothers and sisters, and four grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date. Crowes Mortuary is serving the family. JOHNNY LEON HOLTSCLAW Johnny Leon Holtsclaw, 77, of Ellenboro, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on June 12, 1935, a son of the late Oakley Geter Holtsclaw and Ella Mae Allread Holtsclaw. He retired from PPG Industries after 30 years of service. He was also a United States Army Veteran and member of Race Path Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Toney Holtsclaw. He is survived by his sons, Johnny Holtsclaw and wife Trudy of Ellenboro, Robby Holtsclaw and wife Susan of Bostic, Dale Holtsclaw and wife La Breeska of Forest City, and Danny Holtsclaw and wife Janet of Ellenboro; his sisters, Della Elizabeth Moore of Caroleen, Geretha Mae Walker of Caroleen, Ethel Loretha Garver of Lincolnton, and Carolyn Yvonne Greene of Hickory; his grandchildren, Felicia Hamrick and husband Jeremy, Jessica Holtsclaw, Leslie Wall and husband Charloe, Robert S. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Edessel Kennedy Nanney; one daughter, Tammy Regeana Nanney; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Nanney; one son, Douglas Keith Nanney; one daughter, Janet Lancaster; three step-sons, Randy Smith, Jim Smith, and Jeff Smith; three brothers, Marvin Nanney, Wayne Nanney, and Hubert Nanney; one sister, Mary Ann Talent; one grandchild, Jesse Lancaster; four step-grandchildren, Sky Smith, Erin Smith, Jonathan Smith and Vanessa Smith. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Nanney was held at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Hawkins officiating.
