So, I���m going to make some ���warming up��� food. This will take the chill off and hopefully welcome a delayed springtime. This week I���m featuring recipes from Big Springs Baptist Church ���Pleasures from the Good Earth��� cookbook. Let���s go to the kitchen and make a great anytime year ���round soup. SOUP Cream of Broccoli Soup This is LOUISE GETTYS best every soup, Cream of Broccoli. 1/2 cup onion; 2 tbs butter; 2 tbs plain flour; 1/2 tsp salt; 1/8 tsp pepper; 1 cup milk; 2 cups broccoli, cooked; 1 small jar Cheez Whiz. Saute onions in butter. Add flour, salt and pepper. Stir and cook until mixture is well blended. Add milk. Cook and stir til mixture is thick and bubbly. Puree broccoli in blender or food processor and add to thickened mixture. Cook and stir until soup is heated through. If you prefer add Cheez Whiz and mix. Serve hot. This recipe is so easy and using fresh broccoli seems to be the reason that it is so good. SALAD Blueberry Salad Next we are making a Blueberry Salad. This recipe is shared by FAYE LOVELACE. 2 boxes grape Jello; 2 cups boiling water; 1 can pineapple, drained; 1 can blueberry pie filling; 1 cup sour cream; 1 (8 oz. pkg cream cheese, softened); 1/2 cup powdered sugar; 1/2 cup chopped pecans. Mix first four ingredients and put in a 9x13 dish and chill; Mix the next four ingredients and put on top of salad. Chill until ready to serve. Recipe can easily become a family favorite. CASSEROLE Pineapple Casserole If you want everybody you know to beg you for a recipe, just serve them this! Pineapple Casserole. This is from ANNA & AMIE HARDIN. 1 can pineapple, drained (save juice to drink); 1/2 cup sugar; 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded; 3 tsp flour. Mix all ingredients and pour into casserole dish. Topping: Ritz crackers and 1/2 stick butter. Crush Ritz crackers and butter and pour over casserole. Bake 20 minutes at 350��. That���s it! So delicious, never any leftovers.
