Forty years after its birth,
the United States Hispa-
nic Chamber of Commer-
ce, the nation's leading
organization representing
Latin business, returns to
New Mexico to celebrate
its national convention in
vibrant, historic Albuquer-
que. In 1979, we counted
barely 250,000 Hispanic-
owned businesses. More
than 4.3 million exist today
throughout the country,
thanks to the audacity and
hard work of a new genera-
tion of entrepreneurs. It's
a very different scenario
than that of four decades
ago, but the same entre-
preneurial spirit drives us.
Negocios Now joins this
celebration with a Special
Edition dedicated to this
40th annual Convention
and the USHCC's endu-
ring goal of opening new
paths of opportunity for
our community's business
segment to help drive the
economy and the future of
our nation.
