The Winslow Patoka River is at its banks again at the Riverside Park. At the Park you can see one of the trees that had fallen and is laying on the wa- ter, The park also has several ponds of water along the Hwy 61 edge. In the field across the highway has small lakes but not all in water. The spring cleaning in the lots have begun with doing a little cleaning in one area and a little more cleaning in another needed area. If you have a nice, warm day then it feels great to get out and work in the yard. Besides that great day the ground is not that wet either, you can walk on the ground and not sink. More and more trees have those buds of red and so have the Lilac bush with its small leaves and a beginning flower bud. The Resurrection plant is up in green blades, but no flowers as of yet. The mosquitoes are waking up, and they can also stay away from here. At our last Winslow Lions Club meet- ing we welcomed our Lions Interna- tional District E-25 Governor Ron Ed- wards who brought his lovely wife, Jo Hannah, and Keith Thomas from the Petersburg Club and Dale and Sue Lef- fler from the Oakland City Lions. Our Governor Ron gave us more informa- tion to better our club, and he also had some Gov. Ron Edwards pins we could buy, so Norm and I got one. Mine is on my purse along with my other pins. This pin is Snoopy and his plane with the emblem of our Lion on the banner he flies. Gov. Ron and his wife are both lovers of flying planes. Ron and Jo Han- nah Edwards know of a Pike County star, Tori Truelove who they would like to say Hi to Tori. I had an appointment with Dr. Na- thaniel Grow for my six- month checkup and all is A-Okay. I know that I need to get outside more since the winter weather is gone and more great days are ahead for the spring months. Norm and I had a great day for our 42 years, with singing and phone calls, and seeing the family and friends who all wished us more happy years ahead. Laura gave us 42 daffodils in a cup, we are out and then we were at the cab- in to celebrate more with our favorite drink. The weather was a bit chilly, but the cabin stove was comfy cozy. Norm and I were on our way to Oak- land City when we had to turn on a side road, and that is when we ran out of gas. No gas can, and the distance to the gas station was about the distance from Paul's Market to Arthur Junction. As we sat there on the road a car stopped and asked if we needed help. We are so grateful that Darcy Chesser and Charles Stephens drove by, because they had a gas can back at the house and drove us to Arthur Junction. Darcy and Charles had made the wrong turn to go to Petersburg and when paths should cross, it was meant to happen that day. We are happy to welcome Charles into Pike County by way of Tex- as through Georgia where Charles and Darcy met. We again appreciate the kindness of two great stars. The season is here for the Easter Egg Hunts, so jot down all your dates in your area and enjoy the day as your youngsters have fun gathering up the eggs hid by the Easter Bunny. My mom did leave for Illinois, but she will be back in a few months for an- other visit. George is sick, but Deby is feeling better. It was great to see Mon again, but maybe we both can get out and about again in warmer weather. The lights are about to dim on this week's ramblings, but keep an eye on family and friends; slow down and see the wonders in your area; be kind to others; and always smile, wave and say Hi to everyone this week.
