Keith Chanley, Pastor Shepherd United Method- ist Church exists to glorify God through Jesus Christ our Lord. As a body of believ- ers, we pledge ourselves to al- low the Holy Spirit to develop within us maturity of spirit, unity of faith, and knowledge of the Son of God, so that we may be prepared to share His love, mercy and grace through our words and ac- tions, to a needy world. We extend an invitation to the public to come and wor- ship with us. The Good Shepherd takes care of His sheep. Kay Bond, Minister Apostle Paul could face any- thing because in every situa- tion he had Christ. Through the resurrection, we see how God can turn any tragedy in- to a triumph. There are three symbols God uses to show how he turns our tragedies into tri- umphs. 1. Empty vessels. 2. Empty grave cloths. 3. An empty garden tomb. Leon Pomeroy, Pastor 9 and how they can help us thrive in chaos. So many trials come in- to our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that pass- es all understanding—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chapel UMC, Jeff Pinney. We do not find hap- piness and joy in every day. Yet, when we are in need, or when we are in plenty, God is with us. Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always." We can rejoice because we are not alone, and God is there when life is the hard- est. He is always with us in times of happiness and cele- bration. So glad to serve the God who will never leave us. Let's rejoice. We will welcome you with open arms and an open heart. If we read and understand the Bible, we can truly see that Jesus' words are in the wings of life and about to come out in the forefront of our lives. We need to be prepared for the hour of going home. Is your heart and life right with Jesus? Now is the time of salvation. I pray that many of God's children realize it's time for revival in our lives and in our churches. May revival fire begin to burn in our churches again and may the harvest come in. In God's Service. "Je- sus touches him and says, "I will, be thou clean" (Luke 5:13). Who are we to say that Je- sus is a respecter of persons, or that He has changed? Do I get victory over everything? No, but I believe the failing is on my side. The red letters said, "I will." That trumps my experience, education or information. He said it, I believe it, now to get my- self in a state of mind and faith to receive it. My inabil- ity to manifest His promis- es does not make His Word void. I'm choosing to stand on His Word. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down. The tree was PETERSBURG WESLEYAN CHURCH 9th and McCoy, Petersburg Pastor 812-632-0773 Sunday morning worship 10 :30 a.m. You are invited to worship with us. Richard Comer, Pastor not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and pulled it until the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten. As he moved forward with the car, the rope broke and the kit- ten instantly sailed through the air out of sight. The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighbor- hood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. No. No- body had seen a stray kit- ten. So he prayed, 'Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping,' and went on about his business. A few days later, he was at the gro- cery store and met one of his church members. They began to talk about the cat that he had lost. His mem- ber said, "You won't believe this, but my little girl had been begging me for a cat. So I finally told her, if God gives you a cat, I'll let you keep it. I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And Pastor, you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten sud- denly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws out- spread, and landed right in front of her." Lesson learned... Never underestimate the Power of God and His unique sense of humor. We invite all of you to come and worship with us. Roy Stilwell, Pastor Pam Lemond, Reporter
