Winslow Patoka River, at the park, is up to the rim, but not overflowing. A week ago, February 23 and 24, we had mostly heavy wind with 40 mph plus gusts. Most of the storms to come through this area went into Kentucky. The temps were spring-like until the end of February, where the north winds brought in those freezing temps again. Our yards have finally dried up a bit, and now you can walk on the ground and not sink to your ankles. The spring birds sing their joyous songs in the morning hours. We saw a rabbit sit- ting in the yard eating, and the squir- rel is still around. The Igloo is open again for break- fast, and we have seen many stars who stop to eat. Winslow has another business in town at Lugnutz, and you can get a pizza, strom and other items from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Antonio and Jodie's Pizzeria. They al- so deliver. At the Pike County 4- H Fair last year was the Pike County's Got Talent put on by 4-H, Petersburg and Winslow Lions. This year, this event will be part of the 4-H Fair, and if you would like to perform in the ma- ny talents, contact the two Lions Clubs and start practicing. We have just heard about a birth on February 28. Noah James, weighing in at five pounds and 14 ounces, and 20 inches long. He is the first born of Kel- ly and Troy Hamilton, and the grand- parents are Bruce and Cindy Bailey, and great-grandmother is Donnie Poe- hlein. Welcome, Noah James. My mother, Mildred, is here in Winslow for a visit and to see some of her relatives and friends. Well, it's time to dim the lights on this week's ramblings. I hope you all keep an eye on family and friends and do what you can do for them, even if it is just listening. Slow down, and don't be in such a hurry. You won't get there any faster, and besides that, you will miss all the beauty that is in your ar- ea. Help those who need your help and please, if you know you are doing the right thing, then don't pay any mind to those who don't do anything. Always smile, wave and say hi to everyone you see this week. REAL ESTATE DEADLINE 5 p.m. Every Monday
