Main St., Thiensville Barenz spent a year and a half living in China, an experience that has inspired her latest exhibition. Barenz' paintings are known for their architectural imagery, particularly those of Milwaukee. Her latest works, though grounded in Milwaukee, illustrate her "fantastical" experience in China. Jan. 2 to Sunday, Feb. 3 2012 CCC membership exhibit and sale Where: Cedarburg Cultural Center, W62 N546 Washington Ave., Cedarburg In its inaugural year, this exhibit promises to highlight the creative and original works of the Cedarburg Cultural Center's own members. Expect a delightful array of varied media such as painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, fibers and mixed media. Wednesday, Jan. 2 and Feb. 6 Blueburg Café Open Mic Night Time: Doors open and signup begins at 6:15 pm. Open mic will start at 7 p.m. Where: Cedarburg Cultural Center, W62 N546 Washington Ave., Cedarburg "Plug and Play" Open Mic nights, which take place on the first Wednesday of each month showcase musicians, singers, poets, dancers, comedians, filmmakers and storytellers. Amplification and microphones are provided. Performers will appear on stage on a first-come, first on-stage basis, with management reserving the right to move performances to best showcase the talent. Each performer will have approximately 15 minutes on the stage. Filmmakers must call in advance to insure proper equipment is available.
