This musical features Adam Kinner as Sonny Malone, who plays the protagonist in the play; and Julia Silvera who plays Clio, a demigoddess, daughter of Zeus. The musical tells of the two falling in love, however the demigoddess is not supposed to fall in love with a mortal, for she is a Muse. In the end, Zeus grants them permission and says they may live happily ever after. Several classrooms helped with the production of this musical, such as the dance classroom, who helped to choreograph parts of the musical, and the construction classes, who helped to build and paint the set. Adam Kinner, junior at Red Bluff High School, is involved in drama and choir and is the son of Brooke Kenner, who is the construction teacher. Julia Silvera, a junior at Red Bluff High School, worked very hard along with the other cast members such as David Jensen, Jasmine Welks, Jenevieve Gimble, Nikia Oaktree, Olivia Silvera, Julia Zumalt, Kris Horn, and many more. The cast spent approximately seven to eight hours practicing for the play of Xanadu on Sunday and spent many days prior practicing just as hard in order to achieve what could only be described as an amazing and comical performance, Thursday through Saturday. Their hard work paid off during the show, and the crowd was in a fit of giggles. everyone enjoyed the spectacular performance. Mrs. Bonjean Coleman, the director of the musical, was very impressed with how their production came out. She had a lot of faith in them and knew they would achieve greatness. According to many of the audience members, they agreed that the cast and those who helped during the production did an amazing job. The crew of Xanadu did a great job capturing the Greek theme while providing a modern twist and keeping it current, yet accurate in its representation of the times. By keeping it modern they insured capturing the attention of the audience, which they did successfully.
