MILWAUKEE — Sheriff's detectives con- tinued to investigate the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old woman by her 2 1/2-year-old child who was in the back seat while they were southbound on highways 175/41. Patrice Price was shot through her seat at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday just south of Washington Boulevard, the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies said they found the vehicle pushed out of traffic and performed CPR on the woman until Fire Department medical personnel arrived. Price was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses said the firearm slid from under the driver's seat and the mother and a 1-year-old child were in the front. Neither child was in a children's car seat, the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies said they also found a security officer's gun belt, belonging to the victim's boyfriend, on the floor of the front passen- ger seat. The 40-caliber firearm was found on the floor of the back seat behind the dri- ver's seat. MILWAUKEE — A Bay View High School teacher's aide has been fired and charged with physical abuse of a child after an altercation April 20, authorities said. Jasmine Pennix, 39, is scheduled to next appear in court May 10 for a preliminary on the charge that includes causing bodily harm. Pennix got into an argument with a 14- year-old boy after sever- al boys were giving each other a hard time, a criminal complaint said. The victim pulled a chair from under Pennix, causing him to fall, they argued some more, and Pennix put the boy in a headlock, the complaint said. After they separated, the boy said "come do something" and Pennix pushed him, put his hands around the boy's neck and pinned him to the ground, according to the complaint. A Milwaukee police officer said the boy was taken to a local hospital for injuries to his neck, hips and back, grabbing a doctor's hand after the doctor touched his left thigh and hip area. If convicted, Pennix faces up to six years' imprisonment and a maximum $10,000 fine. He was earning $18,000, media reported. 2 • Milwaukee County Post • April 29, 2016 Child fires handgun through seat, killing mother on freeway, Sheriff 's Office says Bay View aide fired, charged after fight Volume 22, issue number 17 The Milwaukee Post (ISSN 1544-1776) is published weekly by Conley Media, Milwaukee County 3397 South Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207 For all departments call: 414-744-6370 News display and advertising FAX: 414-375-7070 Classifieds: 800-762-6219 ext. 5005 Classified Fax: 262-334-6252 For display advertising inquires: 414-744-6370 Barry Richards: Advertising Representative — ext. 13 brichards@conleynet.com Julia LeGath: Advertising Representative — ext. 17 jlegath@conleynet.com Jim Baumgart Advertising Sales Director — 262-513-2621 jbaumgart@conleynet.com For editorial questions: Dan Muckelbauer Editor 262-513-2626 dmuck@conleynet.com POSTMASTER: Send address changes to the Milwaukee Post 3397 S.
