Northeast Dubois senior Cole Witte won first place; Southridge senior Cody Rademacher placing second and Pike Central senior Zakk Cates placing third. Competing and placing sixth was Northeast Dubois senior Austin Royer. School welding program is once again on top of the state after success in the Skills USA State Welding Contest. Pike Central High School The Pike Central High Vocational Welding stu- dents through the Patoka Valley Vocational Coopera- tive swept the top three plac- es at the Skills USA Welding Contest held at Walker Ca- reer Center in Indianapolis on April 14. Also included in the competition was a 100 question welding-related written test. He will also receive a $200 check from Lincoln Electric to be used to help cover his expenses for the national contest this year. Cole is the son of Mark and Keri Witte of Jasper. Cody is the son of J. R. and Dianna Rademacher of Hol- land. Zakk is the son of Rob- ert and Stacy Mosby of Pe- tersburg. Austin is the son of Butch and Heather Royer of Dubois. Investment Basics Workshop slated for Monday German American Bank will be holding an Invest- ment Basics Workshop on Monday at the Pike County Public Library in the Barrett Meeting Room. The session begins at 6 p.m. and will last to about 7:30. Darwin Lindsey will be coordinating the session for German American and the library.
