Supt. Mitchel Gieselman SPECIAL MUSIC BY THE Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church Hamline Chapel Rd., Monroe City CARRY-IN AT NOON Everyone Welcome! Lutheran Methodist Methodist with a loving acceptance. There are people who seem to think that when we do things for others there are motives other than just being kind and considerate. God's word is full of accounts of doing for those who have no way of paying you back. Where then is the motivation for your good deeds? My mo- tivation is seeing the hap- piness and relief on the fac- es of those I have tried to help. There are going to be people who you can't help because their pride says no to your efforts and in these cases back out with love and don't try to force yourself upon them. Bot- tom line helping others is just the right thing to do if you can. Cup Creek had a good ensemble from the Mont- gomery area for entertain- ment and they were very good. You could see the joy in their eyes as they lifted up praises to God through their songs. They were a talented group of people with love in their hearts for others and God. Go out and become a blessing by helping oth- ers when you can and reap blessings from those who help you. Make God's love alive in your life today and every day. Refresh and renew group will meet Tuesday, July 17 at 6 p.m. Pray for our military and their protection. Also, remem- ber to pray for the USA, peace and for one another. Love, Prayer and Enemies "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." (Mat- thew 5:44, NIV ). This can be one of the hardest scriptures to hear, read and keep. Loving your enemies and praying for those who wrong you can really seem like a tall order. As Christians we need to re- member that our God is for- giving, loving and caring at all times even when it is lit- erally impossible, and we are to strive to be like him. Will it be easy? No. Will you feel like you have prayed the right thing all the time? No. When you pray for your en- emy remember that you do not have to pray so big elabo- rate prayer. God is our father and like such just talk to him and he will hear you. Pray for their situation "for them" whatever troubles they may be facing or hardships they may have, and when they come back to you show love and compassion without holding a grudge or the past over there head. Love others and pray for them like you would yourself. God bless you and keep you. See our Facebook page Glezen Revival Center. So many trials come in- to our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that pass- es all understanding—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chapel UMC, Jeff Pinney. David Walton, Pastor Hope Barnett, Reporter Sermon Series: "Compelled by Love." Sermon Title: "Joined by Love." Scripture reading: Colos- sians 1:21-24. Theme statement: We need to love the church as well as needing the love of the church. It is through the writings of the Apostle Paul that we get a complete view of Christ. Wis- dom, from a biblical perspec- tive, is learning to look at life from God's point of view. There are three reasons love is the greatest power in the church. 1. We are the Bride of Christ. 2. We are the Body of Christ. 3. We are the Bond-Ser- vants of Christ. Leon Pomeroy, Pastor
