FOR THE Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement Announcement Conley News Service ELM GROVE — A woman wanted for her alleged involvement in the November armed robbery of an Elm Grove assisted living residence has been taken into cus- tody by U.S. Marshals. A post on the Elm Grove Police Department's Facebook page states that Danielle Thomas, 23, of Milwaukee was arrested Tuesday in connection with the robbery of the home on Westmoor Terrace. According to police, one suspect held a resident of the home at gunpoint while another gathered valuables from the resi- dent and attempted to remove a large screen TV from the wall. Both suspects fled the area prior to police arriving in a getaway vehicle that was driven by Thomas, police said. Police believe Thomas, a former employee of the residence who allegedly threatened her employer prior to ending her employment, planned the robbery. Thomas was charged on April 9 in Waukesha County Circuit Court with felony armed robbery, as a party to a crime. When she failed to attend an April 19 court date, a warrant was issued for her arrest. She made her first court appearance on Tuesday. Court Commissioner Laura Lau ordered her to have no contact with her co-defendants or the assisted living resi- dence. Her bail was set at $75,000. Her co-defendants are her cousin Kevin Thomas, 18; and Omar Wixson, 25. Kevin Thomas pleaded no contest to a count of armed robbery in March and was sentenced this month to serve four years in prison plus six years on supervision. Wixson's case is pending. If convicted, Danielle Thomas faces up to 25 years in prison. MILWAUKEE — In efforts to encourage children and their families to read together, Molina Health Care of Wisconsin has donated a micro-grant of more than $2,000 to support the Reach Out and Read program at Progressive Community Health Centers. The funds from this grant will be used to purchase developmentally appropriate chil- dren's books for distribution during well- child check visits throughout the year at Progressive CHC clinics. This initiative gives young children in poverty a foundation for success by incor- porating books into pediatric care. Progressive CHC will supply over 800 new books to children annually through the Reach Out and Read program.
