La decisión se produce después de que la ciudad realizara ajustes en La Comisión de Planificación aprueba el plan de la estación ferroviaria de alta velocidad el plan después de recibir comen- tarios de la comunidad a principios de este año. El plan de visión examina cómo un área de 2,3 millas cuadradas del centro de la ciudad que incluye una estación de ferrocarril en la calle F y la autopista 204 podría desarrol- larse durante 30 años si la ubicación de la estación fue aprobada por la Autoridad del Ferrocarril de Alta Velocidad de California. Una ubicación aún no ha reci- bido la aprobación final de la auto- ridad ferroviaria. Eso no se espera hasta fines de este año. De acuerdo con la autoridad fer- roviaria, si se aprueba la ubicación de la estación F Street / Highway 204, el tren de alta velocidad viajaría paralelo a la línea Union Pacific a lo largo de la Carretera 43 al noroeste de Shafter. Una vez que llega al punto donde el 43 gira hacia el sur, el ferrocarril luego viajaría hacia el este hasta la autopista 99.
