According to a release from Falls Police Capt. Jeffrey Knop, village police responded to the reported theft of a maroon Plymouth Breeze at Appleton Avenue and River Crest Drive at 10:43 a.m. Monday. An officer located the vehicle; a red Jeep Liberty with a bro- ken window was following close behind. Both drivers sped away when ordered to stop. The red Jeep escaped and the maroon Plymouth Breeze attempted to elude officers while traveling into Germantown, Milwaukee and Mequon. The vehicle was abandoned near County Line Road and North 76th Street, with three occupants fleeing on foot. Three Milwaukee juveniles, ages 13, 14 and 15, were subsequently taken into custody. Two were held on warrants for previous violations. Woman shot in 1100 block of West Cleveland Avenue Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that happened at about 2:15 p.m. May 11 in the 1100 block of West Cleveland Avenue. Case open for deported alleged child sex offender WAUKESHA — The suspect has been deported, and the person who posted cash bail has his money back, but an arrest warrant remains open indefinitely for a man accused of having indecent contact with a child at a Waukesha soccer game last January. The case of 26-year-old Cristian Sanchez was in court May 12. Waukesha County Circuit Judge Lee S. Dreyfus Jr. approved the return of $10,000 cash bail to the Milwaukee man who posted it on Sanchez's behalf, after Dreyfus' court received final word that Sanchez had been deported, as had been expected. Sanchez, 26, was charged with sexually assaulting a child, child enticement and refus- ing to aid an officer after he allegedly had inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old girl outside an adult indoor soccer league, where he was a referee, in January. It had been known recently that Sanchez was detained and facing a likely deportation. That has occurred, according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Suspect sought for College Avenue Speedway robbery Milwaukee police are seeking a suspect wanted for an armed rob- bery at about 10:35 p.m. Monday at the Speedway gas station at 110 W. College Ave. A male suspect walked into the business, pointed a gun at an employee, demanded money, and then fled the scene with the money, police said. Man falls short of roundabout record at H-D Museum MILWAUKEE — A 32- year-old West Bend man tried to break the world record for circling a round- about on Sunday near the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, but a possi- ble bad voltage regulator on his motorcycle stopped the attempt after 1 hour and 57 minutes. The world record for cir- cling a roundabout is 3 hours, 34 minutes by Oran Sands of Carmel, Ind. Brandon Yahr said he will apply for the motorcy- cle record because Sands accomplished the feat in a car. "It seemed like I could make it," Yahr said Monday. "I was getting pretty sore. All my weight was on one butt check and my arms got pretty tired at about an hour, so I was finding ways to give them breaks." Yahr was attempting the record to help raise aware- ness about motorcycle safe- ty and to remind motorists that motorcycles are back on the road. The round- about wasn't closed to through-traffic. "I did have a lot of peo- ple not pay attention when they were entering the roundabout," Yahr said. "I get that they didn't expect me to keep going, but some were on their phones and others looked right through me, even though we were making eye contact. "I did have to slam on the brakes for one car who pulled in front of me, but other than that, just some speed modulation to stay out of their way was work- ing out."
