BY LORI ACKEN Growing pains in Season 2 of OWN's 'Welcome to Sweetie Pie's' Montgomery and their family's booming restaurant business in June, viewers were still waiting on two big events: Tim's wedding to his son's mother, Janae, and the grand opening of the family's new eatery, Upper Crust. As "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's" opens its new season Saturday, Sept. 15, on Oprah Winfrey Network, the Upper Crust is a go, leaving Tim solely in charge of Sweetie Pie's Mangrove location and further stretching the When we left Tim Norman, his mama Miss Robbie family's time, emotions and resources. "There is some drama to talk about," Norman says, chuckling. "Not everyone was prepared for this explosion and this experience, and there are positives and negatives that come along with it. You guys are going to see all of that." Still, Norman says, he is grateful for the fresh perspectives the cameras give him as they record his family's ups and downs, most notably his relationship woes and his battles with Robbie over the disciplining of Norman's spirited cousin Charles and nephew Andre. "That's something that's just real life, show or no IN FOCUS show," says Norman. "In every family, you have a woman's view and you have a man's view on dealing with children. ... That's what's going on with my mom, is that she thinks I am too stern with them. But I'm just speaking from experience because I know where a 17-year-old boy's mind is at." And, Norman says, he is most proud that "Sweetie Pie's" – which he likens to a real-life mash-up of "The Cosby Show" and "Cheers" – gives viewers a positive, everyday look at African-American family life. "I'm happy to say that we're shining a light on regular people living normal lives," he says, "even though right now it's an abnormal situation with our business growing the way it is. We're still just regular people." What are you currently reading? " 'The 48 Laws of Power.' It's on everybody who's done great things in our culture's must-read list as far as knowing how to navigate your way through the entertainment field and the corporate world and life in general." What did you have for dinner last night? "Tacos." What is your next project? "Actually, I just left the (recording) studio. We've lost the storytelling aspect and the positive things about music nowadays, and I'm trying to get back to that. So within the next couple months, I'll have some things released – some stuff with a message to it." Where did you go on your last vacation? Miss Robbie Montgomery and Tim Norman "New York. It was my first time. It was nighttime when we got to the hotel, and I just walked around Manhattan looking at the lights and the giant screens until 4 in the morning. It was so inspiring. That was just before we got the show going, so I give some of the credit to that trip!" "WTFSutter," www.youtube. com/user/sutterinksoa In this series of confessional videos — with "WTF" standing for just what you think it does — "Sons of Anarchy" creator and executive producer Kurt Sutter talks to fans about issues surrounding his FX biker drama (and the drama the outspoken, somewhat profane Sutter cre- ates for himself). Also at the site is "Before the Anarchy," a series of shorts that go behind the scenes of the show, which returns on Tuesday, Sept. 11. album/1688665 Longtime real-life couple and comedians Patrick Carlyle and Allyn Rachel — who met while attending NYU's Tisch School of the Arts — star in this series of short vignettes that focus on the small, intimate (but not necessarily romantic), everyday moments between lovers when they're alone, from driving to carving pumpkins to feeding the cat, named Rambo. Fox has op- tioned the concept for a possible series. "Couple Time," vimeo.com/ youtu.be/iR7NTPwSMeE Max Greenfield, who plays "Finding Susan Glenn," Schmidt on Fox's hit comedy "New Girl," is the writer, director and star of this sweet, charming Web series presented by, of all things, Axe body spray. He plays a guy pining over the girl that got away — called Susan Glenn — and on a quest to find a way to deal with his feelings. In Episode 2, he discovers that he's not alone and that even guys "with game" have a Susan Glenn.
