With buckets of money flowing through the wealthy town, Katie's determined that her own children will be raised with good old-fash- ioned values and without silver spoons in their mouths. Diedrich Bader ("The Drew Car- ey Show") stars as Katie's loving husband, Greg. He agrees with his wife's goal to raise their three children to differ from the cookie- cutter copies of all the other youth in the neighborhood, but he's also a realist who helps to rein in Katie on occasion. Meg Donnelly ("Team Toon"), Daniel DiMaggio ("Supergirl") and Julia Butters ("Transparent") play Katie and Greg's three chil- dren (Taylor, Oliver and Anna-Kat, respectively), who aren't exactly on board with their mother's plan for their lives. Taylor's already headed down the path that her mom is so desperate to keep her off of, and Oliver has big plans to become fabulously rich. Luckily, even with her own kids working against her, Katie at least has a few friends who are sympa- thetic. Carly Hughes ("Lucky Stiff," 2014) and Ali Wong ("Fresh Off the Boat") star as her friends Angela and Doris, respectively, who help her keep her big plans in perspective. "American Housewife" is a classic sitcom with some pretty big twists to the formula. The se- ries premieres Tuesday, Oct. 11, on ABC. A new super network: "Su- pergirl" has moved to a new home, and she's brought along some new friends. The former CBS superhero show has moved to CW for its second season, which pre- mieres Monday, Oct. 10. Melissa Benoist ("Glee") re- turns to the role of Krypton's sec- ond-most famous child, along with Mehcad Brooks ("Necessary Roughness"), Chyler Leigh ("Grey's Anatomy") and Jeremy Jordan ("Smash"). There are some new faces pop- ping up on the new network, too. Tyler Hoechlin ("Teen Wolf") is slated to guest star as that other famous Kryptonian, Superman, and his nerdy alter-ego Clark Kent; Ian Gomez ("Cougar Town"), Floriana Lima ("The Fam- ily"), Chris Wood ("The Vampire Diaries") and Frederick Schmidt ("Snow in Paradise," 2014) were also picked up during the transi- tion to CW. The addition of "Supergirl" to its roster further solidified CW as the home of DC's superheroes. While Fox has the Batman-based "Gotham" in its roster, CW has "Arrow," "The Flash" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" already going strong, with a crossover of all four of their superhero shows planned for later this season.
