Riley arrested for OVWI, tests twice the legal limit By Andy Heuring An Oakland City man was arrest- ed early Saturday morning after Pike County Deputies claimed he failed to yield and move over to the other lane. Michael T. Riley, 39, of 315 Dale St., Oakland City, was arrested at about 4 a.m. by Deputy Buck Seger on a pre- liminary charge of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 per- cent or more. Deputy Seger said he was assisting Pike County Deputy Paul Collier with a traffic stop on Highway 61, near High- way 364 south of Winslow, when he no- ticed a black Toyota was approaching him without slowing down or moving over to the other lane. Seger, in his re- port, stated he had to "step between my patrol vehicle and Deputy Col- lier's vehicle to avoid being struck by the Toyota." Seger said he got into his patrol car and after catching up to the Toyota, pulled it over near Royalty Road. While talking to Riley, Deputy Seger said he noticed the odor of alcohol and Riley's bloodshot eyes. He stated in his report, Riley said he had six or seven alcohol- ic beverages at The Bob Inn. Riley failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Pike County Jail, where he tested 0.16, which is twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent in Indi- ana for blood alcohol content. WILLS, WICKWARE ARRESTED ON MARIJUANA CHARGES An Evansville man was arrested Fri- day night for driving while intoxicated after police stopped him for speeding. He and his passenger were also arrest- ed on marijuana charges. Robert Wills, 22, of 517 E. Gum St., Evansville, was arrested by Indiana State Trooper Corey Risley at about 7:30 p.m. Wills' passenger Benonia Wickware III, 22, of 2907 E. Jefferson St., Evans- ville, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana. Trooper Risley, in his report, said he stopped Wills after seeing him drive 96 mph in the northbound lane of I-69 near the 47-mile marker. While talking to Wills, Trooper Ris- ley said he smelled the odor of mari- juana. Following a check of Wills' driv- er status, which showed his license was suspended, Trooper Risley said he did a search of the vehicle. Dur- ing the search, Trooper Risley's re- port states several rolled smoke brown wrappers with the odor of marijuana and two non-smoked brown wrappers were found. Wills' passenger, Wickware III, was asleep, but according to police re- cords, they found a rolled wrapper on his clothing. They were both taken into custody. worldwide."
