Perfection
on a plate

PEWAUKEE — The evening
of March 10 was a perfect
time for a stroll along down-
town Pewaukee or hitching a
free ride on a horse-drawn
carriage. Although it was a bit
brisk, Positively Pewaukee
Executive Director Elaine
Kroening kept things positive
and upbeat.
"Well, at least it is not snow-
ing," she said.
The organization held a
brand-new event, The Down-
town Open House, which was
connected to the "Around the
Corner with John McGivern"
Pewaukee episode. The goal of
the event was for the commu-
nity and visitors to meet busi-
ness owners and managers
downtown and see their prod-
ucts.
Kroening said the open
house was designed for people
to discover new businesses
they might not have heard of.
She heard feedback from peo-
ple who drove by the area and
were amazed at the shops
along the lakefront.
