Peter Jacobson ("House") stars as the powerful Proxy Sny- der, who presents Bowman with the offer. Meanwhile, unbe- knownst to Bowman, his be- loved wife, Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies, "The Walking Dead"), is working for the Resistance. Katie uses her "underworld" contacts to try to get insulin for her younger sister, Maddie (Amanda Righetti, "The Mentalist"), whose son is diabetic. The invaders have deemed diseases such as diabetes un- worthy of treatment, leaving many to suffer or die. Katie's Re- sistance movement contacts in- clude Broussard (Tory Kittles, "True Detective"), a ruthless gunman with a knack for form- ing key alliances. The ensemble cast paints a desperate picture as the story plays out, and the series often feels more like a drama than a sci-fi program. At Comic-Con, Cuse billed the show as "an espionage thriller with science-fiction elements." The meat of the story focuses more on Bowman's efforts to take down the Resistance and the conflict his new "job" causes with his wife than it does on seeing the extraterrestrials that have invaded. In fact, it doesn't look like viewers will get much of a peek at the invad- ers in this first 10-episode sea- son. The Hosts, as they're known, may be pulling the strings, but they work through humans such as Snyder. Cuse recently told The Holly- wood Reporter that they didn't want to show the aliens right away, but didn't rule out the possibility in the future. Onscreen aliens or not, the show has attracted a lot of at- tention, thanks in part to USA Network's heavy promotion of the series. Alex Neustaedter, Isabella Crovetti-Cramp, Sarah Wayne Callies and Josh Holloway star in "Colony"
