A-8 Wednesday, April 18, 2012 The Press-Dispatch fundraiser The Spurgeon General Bap- tist Church had a yard sale at Jordan Park Saturday. The proceeds will help pay expenses for 11 of their con- gregation to travel to Hon- duras and help at a Gen- eral Baptist-sponsored or- phanage. Above, Pastor Marc Grimes and his son Mac, Larry and Sheila Ju- lian worked the yard sale on Saturday. Spurgeon GB mission Larry went last year to the orphanage with another General Baptist congrega- tion. He said it was a great trip. Grimes said he went when he was just 16 years old, but hasn't been back in 12 years. "I'm sure it will be a world of difference from when I was there last." He said when he was 16 he used a machete to help clear the area for the orphanage to be built. The group will be going in June and has raised about half the money they need. They said orphans are a huge problem in Honduras, where it is estimated they number more than 300,000.
