Production manager – Paxton Media is looking for a production manager for the Marion, Indiana, location. This position oversees the printing of eight daily news- papers, special products and commercial printing on a Goss Urbanite press. The qualified candidate will have a minimum of five years web press experi- ence, management experience, press repair and maintenance aptitude, a strong IT background, good communications skills and the ability to motivate a team. Job duties include writing content for email and print publications and posting content to website. Candidates should be familiar with AP style, able to meet deadlines, and be comfortable cultivating contacts and developing their own story ideas. Knowledge of Indiana's judicial system and legislature is helpful but not required. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field. Graphic designer — The Journal Review in Crawfordsville, Indiana, is currently seeking an excep- tional graphic designer to join the composing department. This department is responsible for creating newspaper and digital advertisements, plus a wide range of additional materials such as business cards, posters, inserts, wraps and special sections. Potential team members must be well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite and work well on a Mac. The candidate we are looking for will have excellent organization, communication and multi-tasking skills. This position requires high levels of accuracy. This leader will coach reporters to make strategic decisions about cover- age plans and will direct and champion investigative and First Amendment journalism. Director of audience develop- ment – The Herald Bulletin in Anderson, Indiana, seeks and energetic newspaper professional, who is proven in sales and man- agement, to lead its audience development team. The Herald Bulletin is an award winning sev- en-day newspaper with a circula- tion of 13,830 daily and 18,160 Sunday. The Herald Bulletin also publishes a weekly TMC, replica e-edition, local news website and various niche publications, including a quarterly magazine. Our director will lead the staff to grow readership and revenue in a competitive market. We expect someone who will design and implement marketing strategies that build home-delivery and single-copy sales. This person will manage all aspects of sub- scription fulfillment and renewal, promotional activities, distribution systems and circulation met- rics. Our director must lead by example, set benchmarks and build our coverage. This individual must demonstrate a positive style of leadership and an unwavering commitment to customer service. Candidates should have previous management experience in audi- ence development.
